[Help Wordpress] How to best update the Plugin Skin with my modified CSS?

Hi,

Amazing product! I love how customizable and well-documented everything is, and the visual show style picker.

I have a WP plugin newbie question. To modify the CSS of the plugin, should I modify a local copy, re-zip the new-royalslider.zip Folder, and then use "Add New (Plugin)" from the WP and choose UPLOAD? Do I need to de-activate or delete the original version of the plugin first? Or is there another way to reference CSS from within WP or the Plugin itself?
