[Help Wordpress] Struggling to add custom skin

Struggling to add custom skin

Hi there,

I have been reading http://help.dimsemenov.com/kb/wordpress-royalslider-advanced/wp-add... to add a custom skin to the slider in my theme however not being hugely technical I am stuggling with this...

I added the custom skin files to the relevant folder in Plugins and added the code on the link above to the functions.php file however it didn't do anything.

I wonder if someone could give me a 'dummies' guide to doing this?!

Also, when creating a slider, I appear to always have space below the image I put into the slider even when I change the size of the box, any advice on this would be appreciated.
