Put a bit more real looking content on your current blog - then go through the themes - the live preview works better if you have content that you will be using as the live preview will try and put your current blog content into the preview you can see -

There are some filters you can use to sort the themes but I never had much luck with the filters - my "brute force" method was to put them in alpha sort mode and just page down and look at the themes - many will go away at first glance - even the premium themes can be previewed - premium themes also have a 30 day refund policy so if you don't like it you can give it back
