See, this is what's freaking me out. I've checked all that out. I've tried all the ways mentioned by you to get it done. Remember that this just happened out of nowhere. I had not changed my settings. Not disabled anything. And if you were to look at my settings right now, you'd see that they are set to allow comments. (I'm also still having the problem with my new comments getting buried below despite my setting for newest on top. What's up with the comments problem?) I have not set comments to close after a certain period of time. None of that. So what do I do when the settings are correct, but the system is not following them? I'm feeling frustrated, because there is nothing I can do. I haven't changed anything. But something is wrong internally with wordpress, and I can't fix that. The systyem is not following my settings, that's the problem. But, thanks for all the great suggestions. They are really appreciated. A lot of times for other subjects you guys have cleared things up for me immediately. You're the best. Thanks.
